Summer 2003 -
Philmont: [Philmont is saying that we owe them for one other camper. Bill is waiting for the other troop to
determine what they paid.] No new
information.
Future Events
BMX Food Tent
(June 17 – 20, 2004): Training of equipment an issue,
mainly corn roaster. Training will be
done as people show up. Will be making
Italian beef, Chicago style hot dogs, roasted corn, snow cones, popcorn, some
fruit and donuts and coffee in the morning.
BMX Clean Up
(June 20, 2004): Terry to put out flyer, need
start time. Phil will post it on the
website.
JLT (June 20 –
26, 2004):
Four Scouts going: Derek Dwyer, Nick Horan, Kevin Bushaw and Alex
Reece. Parents should talk about car pooling.
Terry Nichols is picking up the scouts.
Being held at the TFC Scout Ranch in Rochelle. MaryAnn to check on where the forth payment is at the scout
office.
Summer Camp
(June 27-July 3, 2004): 27 Scouts and 7 adults are going. Still need a few medical forms. One scout has dropped out, if troop gets refund then scout will
too.
White Water
Rafting (July 17-25, 2004): Senior active adults will pay $150,
junior ones will pay $250. KOA reservation has been made. Drivers are Ed, Eric
and Terry N.
Florida Sea Base
(Aug. 7-14, 2005): Will bring back up in summer 04.
Troop
Development Committee:
July 6: Hunger connection will be from 6:00 – 9:00
PM.
Aug. 14: Tall ship sailing off Navy Pier. Cost is $500 minimum.
Time is 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A motion was made and passed to pay the $250 deposit by May 15. The activity will cost $10 per person, and
the campout will be extra, if scheduled.
Webelos II scouts will be invited for the day only. Chain-O-Lakes
State Park will be the campsite at $2 per person per night.
Oct. 8: Climbing at
Devils Lake, possibly stay at Nordic Pines for Saturday night only. Sandy will talk with Al about going. We may camp one night only.
April 4: Eagle Cave has been reserved. Will cost $36 per person, troop picks up half,
scouts and advisors must pay other half.
All meals provided by Eagle Cave.
Miscellaneous
Business
Peanut Butter Rally – Wanchanagi
District wants 1000 jars of peanut butter by June 30th. Andrew to write email and distribute through
Mr. Nichols.
Youth
Protection Youth Videos: Terry has attendance sheets for the night we showed
the videos; they include parent participation.
MaryAnn will enter it into troop master.
Tent is being repaired, fly and poles were replaced.
Station 3: Bill LeFevre was
approached again about us moving our troop meetings to Fire Station 3. This station is trying to make plans for
doing something in the basement.
Storage is biggest problem for us staying here. We need to consolidate and clean up existing
storage. May want to look into having
one meeting a month at Station 3. Keys
at the new station may be an issue.
New Hats: A new hat was displayed tonight. Black hats only come in the heavier
material. Hats are $8 with patch,
everyone needs to buy their own. Gretchen
will order 144 befor summer camp.
New Scarves: MaryAnn
and Eric will get the scarves started.
Shirts: Have been ordered; should be here
before summer camp. T-shirts are $6.25
and $12 for polo shirts; will be ready by the 22nd. Ken to pick up. Thanks to Bill
and Ken for the extra work.
Discipline agreement needs to be sent to the
new boys and their parents. Sandy will
take care of it again.
Wood
Badge: Ed and Sandy will be going in August with
the troop paying the way. $50 dollar
deposit is needed. Discussion to have the participants pay it and get
reimbursed when they earn their beads – like JLT participants.
Steve
Horan and Paul McCaffrey are going to do wood badge next year!!
